Cotahuasi Canyon Tour (Shared Service)

The trip to Cotahuasi is an adventure, 378 km. road, half of it is paved and one dirt road. The change of scenery is also a feature, beautiful valleys crossed almost tropical climate as: Vitor, Majes,  Corire and Aplao, before starting the climb to a rugged environment with a drier and colder climate.

On reaching the village you can see its colonial church, the highest suspension bridge across the province called Chayman and its guardian mountain or Apu "Huyñau" but its most important attraction is the "Cotahuasi Canyon" or "Canyon to Wonders" considered the most profound and beautiful planet. With a measure of 3 535 meters depth and a beautiful waterfall called "Sipia" (with a waterfall 150 meters) and Osnuke waterfall (80 meters drop), Huaynacotas and Pampamarca inca terraces, hot springs of Luicho, Lucha and Antabamba or its archaeological remains of Marpa, don´t forget to mention Huanzococha Lagoon.

In general it is a town where still lives the old way, with a strong cultural identity, modernity have not been able to beat tradition. It is possible to practice various adventure activities like mountain biking, trekking, canoeing and rock climbing.

First Day:

• 5:00 Pick up from the hotel.
• Petroglyphs of Toro Muerto, where stones will be engraved with all kinds of geometric and anthropomorphic representations.
• Querullpa dinosaur footprints, and see the beautiful castle rock formation formed by wind erosion, to the village of Chuquibamba.
• Mirador des Volcanoes, where you can see up to 10 volcanoes of the 85 belong to the Andahua town.
• Queñuales Forest.
• Lagoon Pallarcocha to 4859 m COROPUNA 6 425 m
• Mirador Allhuay natural to see the Canyon and Valley of Cotahuasi.
• 5:30 Return to hotel.
• Dinner

Second Day:

• 7:00 am Breakfast
• Cactus Forest to Judio Pampa.
• Sipia Falls, a waterfall of 150 meters.
• Return to Cotahuasi for lunch.
• Pre-Inca city of Collot.
• Taurisma town, with its ancient trees.
• Tomepampa town.
• Alca town, where you start with a short walk to the town of Cahuana, only for those who wish, the others will return in mobility to the thermal baths of Luicho.
• Return to hotel.

Third Day:

• 6:00 Breakfast.
• Knowing the Cotahuasi town, Chipita its suspension bridge, it´s viewpoint and it´s stone tower.
• At 9:30 am will begin the return to Arequipa, making a few stops to take you places that we could not see the first leg.
• 8:00 pm Arrival at the city of Arequipa.
